I’m waiting for Nicholas Cage to take the role.
After Benicio Del Toro in “Paradise Lost”, Wagner Moura in “Narcos” and many others, it’s time for the Razzie-nominated Javier Bardem to become Pablo Escobar.
The film’s directed by Fernando León de Aranoa and is titled “Loving Pablo”.
Bardem plays the infamous druglord. At his side, we will see Penelope Cruz, who plays Virginia Vallejo, a journalist, who got very close with Pablo at some point. The cast includes Peters Sarsgaard (who is the only reason, why I might be keen to see this movie) as well.
“Loving Pablo” had its premiere at the Venice Film Festival last year. Although it has failed to garner much attention, the film will probably hit the cinemas in Europe somewhere in 2018.
In case you’re interested, here’s a trailer of it.
